Diatonic Records is a Psychedelic Trance label founded in 2023 by Chris ''Nyvium'', based in Montreal, Canada. Our mission is to bring melodic, out of boundary and psychedelic music around the globe.

Music is a form of art and any form of art is about expressing yourself, it's about letting yourself go with no boundaries or limitations. When you are an artist, your art should be made for you, not for others, we want to keep that spirit! We want the artist to make the music that they want, not what the public supposedly wants...

Back in the early 2000's, Psytrance was still experimental and therefore very original, everyone had their own specific sound. But with time, standards started to take over, sub-genres took place and harmonies started to fade in the genre, they became rarer and harder to find. Here at Diatonic, we don't believe in modern standards, we believe in originality! We don't aim for the charts, we aim to bring music that others wouldn't. BPM, length and specific direction don't matter, as long as our 3 criteria are respected (melodic, psychedelic and out of ordinary)

NYVIUM

Christian Godard, aka Nyvium, aka Transpose is a music producer extremely dedicated to his art for over 15 years and a great source of inspiration for local artists! He has released numerous releases with great success. In 2023, he founded the Diatonic Records label with the aim of offering unusual psychedelic music and introducing artists to the population. Quickly spreading his brand within the global psychedelic community with remarkable and original production quality! His unique melodic style and surreal stage performances will send you on an adventure far beyond your imagination!

KADUM

Kadu Rauth Hidalgo, known as KADUM, was born in 1990 in Curitiba, Brazil. From an early age, he was immersed in music, studying piano and saxophone. In 2006, he had his first encounter with Psychedelic Trance at private events (PVTs) in the region. By December 2007, he delved deeper into music production, using "Ableton Live" to develop his electronic music project. Simultaneously, he has performed as a saxophonist in various bands in Curitiba’s nightlife.Since 2019, KADUM has released tracks with notable labels such as Zenon, Alien, Religare, Samaa, Mosaico, Rizoma, Space Baby, Arrábida, ADN, Forestdelic, Tesseract, Gato Pardo, and Tropical Twista. He incorporates organic sounds and instruments like the didgeridoo, flute, saxophone, and hang drum into his productions and Live Acts, presenting them in a distinctive and laid-back style.

ALIEN PILOT

Establishing himself upon the Psy-Trance scene across Ontario, Canada he has shared the stages with some of the biggest names in the game such as GMS, Avalon, DJ Chicago of 1200 Micrograms, Liquid Soul, Earthling, Symbolic, Rikam, Egorythmia, Virtual Light, Vegas, Atmos, Neuromotor & more.Continuously working hard in his studio, putting in an endless amount of love & effort into evolving his sound to reach higher dimensions. He released his first single in April of 2019 with Paleo Records, following that up with many more releases over the years on labels such as, Maharetta Records, Diatonic Records, Doubsquare Records, Adhara Records & Zoo Music. In 2022, Alien Pilot released his debut 2 track EP “The Way She Goes” on the Sculpted Sounds record label based in California, where shortly after he went on to sign with Sculpted Sounds as a label artist. In early 2024 he signed with the new Quebec based Psytrance label Diatonic Records as a secondary label.

CONTRAPUNCTUS

Xavier L.-B. aka Contrapunctus is a progressive Psytrance producer and musician. A music lover from a very young age, he’s now a professional violist, playing in various groups and symphony orchestras as a classical performer, and is passionate about underground electronic music.His first encounter with Psytrance, at Timeless Festival 2017, had an enormous impact on him. As a result, he decided to produce his own sound by taking classes with well-known Canadian producer Black Marvin. Contrapunctus’s music is captivating, infused with juxtaposed rhythms, evolving melodies, and soundscapes that evoke orchestral music. His musical universe combines novelty and tradition in an organic manner, all in a unique Psy/Prog style. In this regard, his artist name refers to a writing technique used by Johann Sebastian Bach in which multiple melodic lines are interwoven to form a harmonious combination.
